  • Overview

    The International Ambassador at Chandler Crossings will serve as an advocate, leader, role model, and resource provider for all international student members residing at Chandler Crossings. The International Ambassador will maintain a welcoming community for international students from around the world, while introducing them to the American university experience. Providing the opportunity to connect with peers from around the world through both structured and informal interaction will be the primary mission of The International Ambassador.


     Branding & Marketing

    • Develop and execute outreach marketing strategies to increase and capture the interest of current and future international students at local university.
    • Create awareness of Chandler Crossings as the international student residential community at the property.
    • Communicate with university and student organizations (International Student Services,
    • Chinese Student Association, Indian Student Association, etc.) to partner and participate in larger international student events.
    • Assist in the recruitment process of international students to reside and be exclusive members of the international student body at Chandler Crossings.

    Community Development

    • Create and maintain a welcoming community for international students from around the world, while introducing them to the American university experience.
    • Welcoming international students living at Chandler Crossings and helping them successfully transition into the residential setting, the local university experience, and the greater community.
    • Organize and host weekly & monthly cultural events and meetings both at the community and outside the community.
    • Coordinate “Welcome” efforts for international students during move-ins in August and January.
    • Coordinate “Farewell” efforts for international students during move-outs in December and May/July.

    Serve as a Resource

    • Serve as a source for information concerning academics, student services/resources, and student life at local university
    • Perform various tasks as needed or as directed by the Property Manager and any additional responsibilities as required


    Education/Experience and Technical Requirements:

    • Be bilingual (Mandarin).
    • Have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Have the ability to engage diverse populations and facilitate inter-group communication.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills and previous leadership involvement.
    • Have the ability to create and implement programming targeted to a diverse population.
    • Have an open mind towards diversity and global awareness with a keen sense of cultural sensitivity.
    • Have experience living in a residential setting on a college/university campus.
    • Have a passion towards teamwork and collaboration with other staff members, residents, and the larger community.
    • Have the ability to seek and provide resources to international students on U.S. academic and college success strategies.
    • Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends.
    • Be enrolled as a full-time, degree-seeking student in good academic and behavioral standing. Or a graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Any form of global and multicultural experience is a plus.

    Physical Requirements:


    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer)
    • The person in this position frequently communicates with students who have inquiries about their rent or leasing agreement.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
