  • Overview

    The Resident Service Attendants are available 24/7 while schools are in session and provide comprehensive information, resources, and visitor services for the University Center community.


    This position will monitor the use of the various amenities available to residents on the second floor, including the dance studio, fitness center, multi-media room (MMR), recreational equipment and the music practice rooms. This position will also perform Mailroom functions such as logging, sorting and distributing mail and packages during Mailroom hours.


    • Ability to provide resident services in a professional and courteous manner
    • Answer incoming calls and provide information to residents and guests
    • Distribute University Center and/or member school promotional items
    • Maintain processes to accurately track data for amenities located in the Resident Service area including the fitness center, dance studio, music practice rooms, laundry rooms and Multimedia Room
    • Assist with the distribution of newspapers and flyers to residents
    • Distribute Resident Service Area equipment for amenities to residents and their guests including but not limited to pool sticks, ping pong paddles, air hockey pucks, video games consoles, vacuums, etc.
    • Responsible for laundry room oversight including the resident or guest refund process
    • Monitor and respond to the University Center e-mail account
    • Post specific information and/or distribute flyers approved by UC management team members
    • Log and distribute packages on a daily basis
    • Sort and distribute mail
    • Ensure all outgoing mail and “return to sender” mail is picked up by USPS and appropriate carriers
    • Assist residents with opening mailboxes
    • Answer inquiries regarding mail and package deliveries
    • Any other duties as assigned by your manager

    Physical Requirements

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs or more from the ground to counter height continuously during scheduled shifts.
    • Ability to lift 25 lbs from waist to overhead shelves.
    • Ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer).
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
